About this course

How does a production get from the rehearsal hall all the way to the closing performance? During our final session participants will learn how to move a show out of the rehearsal hall and on to the stage. Participants will be introduced to technical and show running paperwork including cue sheets and run sheets, how to setup a backstage with props, costumes, and scenic elements, preparing the prompt script for all types of cues, and even practice calling cues to past TIP productions. Participants will engage in a discussion of effective communication between the production team, cast, and crew in order to create a fluid, calm technical rehearsal environment. Finally, participants will then explore the Stage Manager’s role during performances through closing of a production. It is recommended that participants have a general knowledge of Stage Management or have attended Stage Management Volumes 1 and 2.
